Your bedroom should be your sanctuary. Whether you keep it squeaky clean, color coordinated or in complete disarray - your bedroom should provide you with a sense of calm. As a digital nomad, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the comfort that comes from having ownership of your own space. Because I’m bopping around so much, besides a few personal items, I can’t carve out a space that reflects my personality and energy. But then again, that is what Pinterest is for.

With winter coming up, I think those sentimental reminders are important. As one of the almost 20% of people with seasonal depression, come winter time I know I’m going to be in my room - a lot. The room that I occupy plays a big part of how long I lay horizontal and disregard the dirty mugs that surround my nightstand. Keeping a room that I carefully decorated clean helps jog me out of an episode. If I’m not feeling the space, I do next to nothing to keep it tidy.
