Is there an Instagram Anonymous? We're asking for a friend...sort of. Keeping up with Instagram is basically our generations obsession. As we're constantly double tapping away while shouting out our own profiles - Speaking of which, if you're not following us on Instagram what are you doing *hint hint* - We're also subconsciously comparing ourselves and subsequently our lives with actual and literal celebrities/models. We all know it's unrealistic but we all fall into that trap door of insecurity time and time again. So in an act of petty defiance, we're breaking down trendy Instagram content that you're probably tired of enviously double tapping on. In hopes that you'll see that looking cool on Instagram isn't always as  realistic as it seems - and that you should aspire to be you and not a sparkly filter.

The 80s home video effect

It's grainy, it's raw, it takes a giant step backwards in video technology in this year of our lord 2017. Used by Instagram supermodels with more klout than everybody reading this combined, this VHS inspired, lo-fi digital content is a weird TBT to a time where capturing video required a device that's 1000 times heavier than our smart phones.

The Sparkle Effect

If you're into loudly humming Shining while you 'Gram then boy does Instagram have a new trend for you. The glittery make up and sparkly slip dresses you've been scouring the Internet to find are all brought to you by the fashion world's new favorite app kirakira. So if you're ready to reap your full potential as a disco ball, all you need is .99 cents and a dream.

The Pasta Slurping Effect

Staying Instagram famous is no easy task, in fact it's down right exhausting. That's why models and Instagram royalty need to carb up. Now, it's worth mentioning that the way most people carb up is waaay less glamorous.  And not to be all "I'm not like the other girls" because that's bullshit, but let me tell you this much - my lipstick game isn't as strong as these ladies.

The glamping Selfie effect

Sometimes you got to take your Instagram selfies to the great outdoors. And for a generation who is too consumed by digital screens to ever leave our homes, we sure do like to hike and shit. But want to know what we like to do more than hike? Tell other people we're hiking, in a fully impractical get up none the less.

The Kitschy Expensive Item Effect

I'm not sure if you've noticed this, but fanny packs made a weirdly triumphant return this year in fashion. But not just any neon green, $5 fanny pack. Nope we;re talking about  Gucci Matelasse leather "Belt Bag" starting at the one-months rent price of $1,100. Not even going to lie, if this bag was an option for us, we'd snatch it up in a heart beat. And for the price, we'd Instagram about it everyday.

All that being said, don't forget to follow us on Instagram ;)
