Fashion Editorial: The Oxymoron of Summer Fashion

This one goes out to all the face sweaters. The people who remain statuesque, not in hopes of appearing elegant, but in hopes of preventing the next roll of sweat from entering the back of their shirts. I am a reluctant member of this tribe but I always try to handle it with all the grace I can muster. And by “it” I mean my general aura and wardrobe during the summer. Sometimes it’s effortless - saturated colors and sweeping hemlines. Oftentimes it’s desperate and inarticulate. Usually it’s a hodgepodge of both.

That’s what this mini look book is all about. The juxtaposition of trying your best to seem put together when all you want to do is sit on your porch barefoot and in that old comfy T-shirt that you swore you’d give back to him. It’s elegant, it’s messy, and it’s the other side of the sexy summer editorials - ergo it’s real.

My model is the beautiful Dyandra Harrison. Photo and styling by yours truly.
